BY TRAIN

Saugatuck Station

Right in the heart of Saugatuck is the popular, highly accessible Metro-North commuter rail stop on the New Haven Line. This Westport Station runs alongside mom and pop storefronts and cafés. The Westport Saugatuck station features daily parking and permit parking in 8 lots.


Greens Farms Station

In the Greens Farms district of Westport is a small Metro-North commuter rail stop on the New Haven Line. The station house is located on New Creek Road. This single building is located on the westbound (New York-bound) side. There are currently 3 parking lots at the Greens Farms railroad station.

BY CAR

Travelling along the coast, you can reach Westport by car via I-95 using exits 17 and 18. Exit 17 puts you in the middle of the Saugatuck neighborhood, and exit 18 will take you to the Greens Farms neighborhood. Exit 18 also puts you directly in route the Sherwood Island State Park. (Follow signs directly off the exit).

Traveling more inland, you can reach Westport via the Merritt Parkway using exits 41 and 42. Exit 41 takes you to Wilton Road and exit 42 (further East) takes you to Weston Road.

BY BUS

The Westport Transit District, the Greater Bridgeport Transit (gbt), and the Norwalk Transit District, use the Coastal Link bus which runs Monday through Sunday from Milford to Norwalk and has several stops in Westport along the Post Road (Route-1). Click here for the complete Schedule.

BY AIR

Westport is less than two hours from the three major surrounding international airports: JFK International Airport (Queens, NY), LaGuardia International Airport (Queens, NY), and Newark Liberty International Airport (Newark, NJ.).

Alternatively, Westport is just over an hour drive from Bradley International Airport (Windsor Locks, CT) north of Hartford.

BY FERRY

The Bridgeport and Port Jefferson Steamboat Company provides a ferry link between Connecticut and Long Island, NY. With space for 90-120 vehicles, the Bridgeport/Port Jeff Ferry operates year-round. In the summer season ferries leave each location between 6:30am and 9:30pm every hour on the half hour - in the winter season between 6a and 9p every hour and a half.
