The Compo Beach In-Line / Skateboard Skate Park and Roller Hockey Center is an area developed to provide a safe and enjoyable area for skaters of all ages.  As an alternative to street skating, this skating facility offers rails, ramps, and two half pipes for enthusiastic skaters as well as a blacktop area for those looking to skate safely, play hockey, or begin to learn the sport.  Parks and Recreation offers different programs throughout the season. 

Skate Park Rules and Regulations

  • Hours of operation: May 1 to October 30. 8:00am to Dusk

  • Skate park is NOT supervised. Skate at your own risk.

  • Skate park regularly patrolled.

  • Skating not permitted when surface is wet or frozen.

  • Use of skate park after hours or when gate is locked is trespassing.

  • Users must wear appropriate safety equipment including helmet; elbow, wrist and knee pads; and appropriate clothing (shirts are required at all times).

  • No unauthorized pieces of equipment obstacles or apparatus may be brought into the skate park.

  • Do not proceed down a ramp until clear of other skaters.

  • No motorized apparatus may be used in the facility.

  • Only skateboards and in-line skaters permitted inside the park.

  • No bicycles, scooters or any equipment with handlebars permitted.

  • No pets allowed in skate park area.

  • No food or drink allowed in the skate park area, including gum.

  • No alcohol, smoking, tobacco or vaping products, drugs, weapons, foul language, inappropriate or disorderly behavior or loitering allowed in the skate park.

  • No smoking allowed within 100 yards of skate park area.

  • No destroying or defacing public property.

  • Spectators are not allowed in the skate park area.

  • All users must clean up area after themselves.

Skating is a hazardous activity.  Skate at your own risk.  When you enter this facility you assume all risks and responsibilities that are inherent to extreme sports activities which could result in serious physical injury or death to yourself, others, and/or property.  The facility is used by experienced and inexperienced skateboarders and in-line skaters.  Serious injury may result from falling, being hit by skateboards, or colliding.  The Town of Westport and its agents are not responsible for any injuries.

Age warning:  The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under 10 not use skateboards without close supervision and that children under 5 not use them at all.

Violations of the above rules and regulations may result in the loss of skate park and/or other Parks and Recreation Department privileges.

Birthday Parties:

Birthday parties are available by reservation on the weekends from 8 a.m to 10:30 a.m. 
Parties will include:

  • Lessons by qualified instructors

  • Free skate time

  • Demonstration by instructor

 Cost:

  • Instructor - $60 per instructor

  • Westport Resident - $10 per child

  • Non-Resident - $15 per child

Children must bring their own skating equipment.

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of reservation.
